FREE INITIAL ASSESSMENT AND INTRODUCTORY WORKOUT:
Fill out this simple health questionnaire, so I can get to know you a little better and learn your goals, and then we’ll arrange an hour-long assessment including:
        • Lifestyle and health history review
        • Blood pressure and heart rate readings, assessment of weight,
and if you want, calculation of body fat percentage using calipers.
        • Simple cardio, strength, balance and movement tests

A few days later we meet to review your results and do a personalized and evidence-based workout, designed to your body, goals and abilities. If you want, I'll provide some lifestyle tips to help you meet those goals.

The first session costs you nothing except an hour of your time, and is done in the privacy of your home or office. To set up an appointment give me, David Dorken, a call at 416-723-7289 or email david@basic-training.ca

Join me on your trip to better health and fitness and I will develop an evidence-based exercise program that will help get you safely to your goals. I usually recommend we only meet for two sessions a week, both which include strength and balance training.

I’m a huge believer in cardiovascular fitness – the science is conclusive and says everyone should do at least 30 minutes a day, five days a week, of ANYTHING. Walking, running, swimming, skating, dancing, biking or hiking. I don’t care. Neither does your body.

Just move, and ideally enjoy it.

No time? I have ways for you to get your cardio system in great shape with just three 10 minute High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) sessions a week.

If you run or cycle or want to start, I can teach you some fun and effective training techniques – on roads or trails. Want to race? We can get a training program together that will get you across the finish line, healthy and in a good time.

Haven't exercised in years? Fear not. I have five years of experience and training in helping seniors to safely and enjoyably improve their strength and fitness.

I come to you. If you have a home gym, great. If not, I'll arrive at your east Toronto door equipped with a variety of cool tools including Powerblock dumbbells, kettlebells, medicine balls, weighted vests, Therabands, PTP bands, TRX straps, skipping rope and sandbags to make you stronger and more resilient.

Eat well.
Sleep well.
Move often. And lift stuff.
