THE BASICS ON DIET

I used to have the diet that your doctor warned you about and an expanding waist-line my doctor warned me about. Since then, I slowly evolved my diet and lifestyle. I love food, I still eat the food I love, but it's usually healthier fare. I still drink wine and beer, but I practice a little more moderation.

No "dieting." No gimmicks, pills or potions.

Totally coincidentally, in the nutrition courses I've taken and the dozens of diet books and studies I've since read, it seems I inadvertently stumbled into the open secret of losing weight, keeping it off and staying healthy.

It's as basic as eating a variety of minimally processed foods that you enjoy eating. Then move regularly, lift stuff and make sure you get enough sleep.

I'm no fitness model, but I am a fit and healthy 61-year-old, and I stay that way without much effort.

Tips from the experts to get you healthier:

“If we could give every individual the right amount of nourishment and exercise, not too little and not too much, we would have found the safest way to health.”
Hippocrates (c. 460 - 377 BC)

"Don't eat anything your great-grandmother wouldn't recognize as food."Michael Pollan

"If you can't happily eat any less, you're not going to eat any less...
If you can't exercise more, you're not going to exercise more...
If you don't like the life you're living, you're not going keep living it that way."

"There really, truly, is no one "best diet'"

I can help you improve your diet, health and fitness, teach you ways to control your weight and help you quit smoking. I've studied it, and more importantly, I've done it.
